Lange Nacht der Wissenschaft

In june 2013, the Rosenmund lab participated in the long night of sciences (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) where we opened our research laboratory to the public. Over 40 interested participants had the opportunity to get an insight into cutting-edge research of neurosciences.
Participants took a look at cultured nerve cells in light and fluorescence microscopes. Neuronal structures such as synapses and dendrites were labeled and thereby easy to identify. We demonstrated how communication between neurons is investigated in our laboratory: The small electrical signals produced by the neurons during communication where amplified and visualized with highly sensitive detectors.
